Each year, the third weekend in October is the Jamboree of the Air (JOTA) and Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI). The 2017 Australian Jamboree had around 11,000 participants, and the World Jamboree in Japan had 35,000. That's nothing compared to JOTA which is the biggest activity in Scouting, with more than 1.3 million participants from over 150 countries.

Sydney North Region Scouts and Northern Sydney Girl Guides hold a combined camp on this weekend where they use Amateur Radio and Computers to talk and write to other Scouts and Guides across Australia and all over the world, from their base at Narrabeen Caravan Park.
